Responsible tourism in Madagascar is taking a real turn. TOUR MALIN MADAGASCAR is a Tour Operator engaged in Responsible and Solidarity Tourism, with a deep conviction of the intimate link between Tourism, the preservation of the Environment and Heritage, and local Community Development. For several years, we have been investing in actions to preserve the environment, secure natural resources, and promote sustainable livelihoods. Our objective is to enable stakeholders to actively participate in the development and application of good practices.

We have implemented various initiatives, such as collaboration with Community Associations, awareness campaigns, training, and our participation in workshops on the National Corporate CSR Strategy. We have also contributed to the development of good practices for fighting fires and successful reforestation in Madagascar. We provide educational support, building schools, setting up libraries and providing school materials.

For 11 years, we have supported a village located in the Pangalanes, in Ankanin'ny Nofy, on the shores of Lake Ampitabe, in eastern Madagascar. This village, which has become a “Pilot Village”, currently has 810 inhabitants, while it had only 142 in 2013. We have built a school with 4 classrooms, a library, an office and 3 houses for teachers. We also introduced the use of toilets, built at the school and for the villagers. We provide school supplies, organize fun workshops for children, awareness sessions and training.

The development of the village continues, thanks to the commitment and goodwill of the villagers who actively participate in community work, collaborating with Organizations, Projects and Associations with the aim of progressing together. We still have many projects to come, such as food autonomy for the village, support for parents to meet their needs and allow their children to continue their education, as well as the preservation of their environment.

Currently, we are renovating all the buildings that have deteriorated over time and have plans to build new sustainable classrooms. Our short, medium and long term projects include the continued supply of school supplies, financial assistance to teachers, the establishment of tourist discoveries, the improvement of sanitary facilities, the construction of a reception center and a school canteen, a reception room for the village midwife, the establishment of organic market gardening, workshops, training and many other initiatives.

We do not have specific funding and we have moved forward thanks to one-off donations from our travelers, those around us and with an amount taken from every trip that we carry out for each round.
