If in Madagascar, currently, the administrative power is held by the government, this has not always been the case as almost everywhere in the world. Indeed, this power has only recently appeared.

Long before the appearance of this administrative hierarchy in the social life of the Malagasy, the system of power was established according to the order of the elders and little by little these elders became chiefs and then inevitably, kings.

If within the framework of the family, this order is still implicitly marked, in everyday life, these kings of yesteryear no longer have much authority unless morality or tradition is called upon.
In today's Madagascar, ancestral power no longer has authority except within the sacred and the traditional. It is consulted for the approval and support of the sacred.
