This trip offers a deep immersion in the rural territories of Madagascar, in the heart of the Highlands and the villages of the East coast.
Along the route, travelers share the daily lives of local communities, discover traditional know-how such as wild silk weaving, basketry or agricultural crops, and participate in village activities.
Between hikes in the landscapes of the Highlands, navigation on the Pangalanes Canal and discovery of the Andasibe tropical forest, this circuit offers a unique human experience based on exchange, sharing and local development.

Day 1: Antananarivo - Anjazafotsy
Day 1: Antananarivo - Anjazafotsy

Departure from the capital to the Central Highlands. The road crosses rice fields, cultivated hills and traditional villages. Arrival in the village of Anjazafotsy at the end of the day and settling in with a local for a first immersion in rural life.

Day 2: Anjazafotsy – Cultural immersion

Day dedicated to discovering the village and interacting with the inhabitants. Participation in daily activities: agricultural work, meal preparation or craft activities. These moments of sharing allow us to better understand the life and traditions of Malagasy rural communities.

Day 3: Highland Campaign

Walk through the agricultural landscapes of the region: rice terraces, green hills and small typical villages. Ascent to the surrounding heights offering magnificent panoramas of the Highlands countryside. Night at homestay in Anjazafotsy.

Day 4: Anjazafotsy - Sandrandahy

Road to Sandrandahy, village located northeast of Ambositra. This village is home to the SAHALANDY association, bringing together artisan women engaged in silk weaving and agricultural activities. Welcome by members of the association, discussions and discovery of their activities. Dinner and night at a local’s home.

Day 5: Sandrandahy – Crafts and traditions

Visit the village and its surroundings. Discovery of local know-how with an introduction to wild silk weaving and basketry. Sharing with the women of the association and discovering the role of craftsmanship in the local economy. Night at a local’s place.

Day 6: Sandrandahy – Ranomafana

Road to Ranomafana with a stop at Ambositra, the craft capital of the Highlands. Continuation to the Ranomafana tropical forest and installation in the region.

Day 7: Ranomafana – Mananjary

Visit Ranomafana National Park in the morning to observe lemurs, birds and tropical plants. In the afternoon, drive to the east coast towards Mananjary. Night at the hotel.

Day 8: Mananjary – Ampahomanitra

Welcome by representatives of the FANANTENANTSOA association at the Mananjary pier. Departure by canoe for a navigation of approximately 8 hours on the Canal des Pangalanes, between lakes, villages and tropical forests. Arrival at the village of Ampahomanitra and welcome by the locals. Night at a local’s place.

Day 9: Ampahomanitra - Village life

Discovery of the village and its surroundings. In the morning, walk and visit local activities; In the afternoon, participation in craft activities organized by the women of the association. Night at a local’s place.

Day 10: Ampahomanitra – Agricultural activities and beach

Visit to local plantations, notably vanilla and food crops. Picnic on the beach and moments of culinary exchange with the locals. In the evening, musical entertainment and friendly moments with the villagers.

Day 11: Ampahomanitra - Mahanoro

Early morning departure by canoe to reach Mahanoro following the peaceful landscapes of the canal. Arrival at the end of the afternoon and check-in at the hotel.

Day 12: Mahanoro – Andasibe

Road to the Andasibe forest via Vatomandry and the National road 02. Arrival in the village and welcome by members of the AINA VAO association. Walk in the village and exchanges with locals around craft and agricultural activities.

Day 13: Andasibe – Nature and local activities

Discovery of the VOI MMA (Community association ) area Park, a remarkable natural space for observing local biodiversity. Farmer activities with members of the association and moments of cultural exchange. Entertainment and friendly evenings in the village.

Day 14: Andasibe - Antananarivo

Return to Antananarivo through the green landscapes of eastern Madagascar. Visit the capital and its emblematic sites before spending the night at the hotel. End of service.
