This journey of exploration crosses the spectacular Masoala Peninsula, one of the wildest and most unspoiled regions of Madagascar. Between dense tropical forest, villages of vanilla farmers, rivers and wild coastline, this trek connects Maroantsetra to Antalaha in total immersion in nature. The adventure then continues towards the Tsingy of Ankarana before concluding with a tropical break on the island of Nosy Be.

– Trek of approximately 95 km over 5 days, with 6 to 8 hours of walking per day.
– Wet terrain, sometimes uneven, but accessible to anyone in good physical condition.
– River crossings, forest trails and isolated areas.

– Experienced local guide, porters and cook during the trek.
– Accommodation in small bush hotels, with locals or in camps.
– Simple and authentic meals often prepared with local communities.

Arrival in Antananarivo and welcome by our team at the airport. Transfer to your hotel and installation. Night at the hotel.
Domestic flight to Maroantsetra, a town located in the heart of Antongil Bay. Welcome by your guide and check-in at the hotel. Briefing and preparation for the trek.
Boat excursion to the Nosy Mangabe reserve, a natural sanctuary rich in lemurs and reptiles. Guided exploration and picnic on the island. Return to Maroantsetra at the end of the day.
Departure by canoe then by motorbike to reach the entrance to the deep forest. First walk of around 3 hours to the village of Fizoana. Night in a bush lodge.
Start of the crossing of the peninsula with hiking in landscapes of crops and forest. Gradual entry into Masoala National Park. Night in local lodge.
Most demanding day with steep slopes and paths sometimes overgrown with vegetation. Passage near magnificent waterfalls including that of Bevontsira. Night in camp.
Gentler hike through rivers and lush vegetation. Crossing spectacular landscapes in the heart of the park. Night in a tent near a village.
Gradual exit from the park with several ford crossings. Meeting with local populations and discovery of their way of life. Camp in the village.
Walk along the Onive River between small villages and cultures. Alternation of forest and river landscapes. Night in camp near the village.
End of the crossing with possible descent of the river by canoe. Arrival in Ambodirafia in the Eastern Cape and check-in at the hotel. Rest time.
Relaxing day after the trek. Visit to the lighthouse, the historic Benyowski stele and possible swimming. Tasting local seafood.
Atypical transfer by motorbike to Antalaha with ferry crossings. Arrival in the vanilla capital of the world. Installation and discovery of the city.
Day dedicated to discovering vanilla and spice plantations. Meetings with farmers and lunch with locals. Return to the hotel.
Route along the vanilla coast with stops in producing villages. Visit to distilleries and rice field landscapes. Night in Vohémar.
Road to the Ankarana reserve, famous for its Tsingy rock formations. Check-in at the hotel and night out to observe wildlife.
Discovery of the park and its impressive tsingy and limestone canyons. Possible observation of lemurs and spectacular landscapes. Road to Ankify.
Boat crossing to Nosy Be. Discovery of the island: Hell-Ville, sacred banyan tree, ylang-ylang distilleries and sunset at Mont Passot.
Boat excursion to Nosy Komba then to the Nosy Tanikely marine reserve. Snorkeling in the coral reefs and lunch on the island.
Free time to enjoy the beach or the local market. Transfer to Nosy Be airport and assistance with check-in. End of the trip.
