Located at the gates of Masoala National Park, Aye-Aye Forest Camp offers a unique experience in the heart of the tropical forest of northeastern Madagascar. Between aye-aye observation, forest hikes, meetings with villages and excursions to the wild islands of Antongil Bay, this stay favors a deep immersion in one of the richest ecosystems of the island.

Day 1: Arrival at the camp and night discovery
Day 1: Arrival at the camp and night discovery

Reception at Maroantsetra airport then transfer by boat along the river to the camp. Installation and discovery of the surroundings between beach and tropical forest. After dinner, first night walk in search of the aye-aye and small nocturnal lemurs.

Day 2: Farankaraina Forest and local village
Day 2: Farankaraina Forest and local village

Exploration of the forest, rich in numerous trails allowing you to observe lemurs, birds and endemic reptiles. In the afternoon, excursion by canoe to a neighboring village to discover local cultures and Malagasy traditions. In the evening, walk on the beach under the starry sky.

Day 3: Nosy Mangabe and Nosy Fanihy
Day 3: Nosy Mangabe and Nosy Fanihy

Boat trip to the wild islands of Antongil Bay. Observation of the giant bats of Nosy Fanihy then discovery of Nosy Mangabe, a natural sanctuary renowned for its lemurs and chameleons. Return to camp in the afternoon and another evening outing.

Day 4: Hike to Navana Waterfall
Day 4: Hike to Navana Waterfall

Walk along forest trails to discover birds and tropical vegetation. Possibility of joining the Navana waterfall for a refreshing swim in the heart of nature. Picnic and return to camp at the end of the day.

Day 5: Ascent to the top of the forest
Day 5: Ascent to the top of the forest

Hike to the summit overlooking Antongil Bay. The climb crosses different ecosystems offering numerous opportunities for wildlife observation. From the summit, spectacular panorama of the forest, neighboring islands and the Masoala peninsula.

Day 6: Local plants and traditions
Day 6: Local plants and traditions

Discovery of plants and trees used by local communities for traditional medicine, food or construction. Relaxing afternoon between swimming and rest facing the ocean. In the evening, traditional Malagasy dinner followed by songs and dances on the beach.

Day 7: Return to Maroantsetra
Day 7: Return to Maroantsetra

Last morning walk to watch birds or enjoy a swim in the ocean. After breakfast, transfer by boat to Maroantsetra. Installation and free time to discover the city and its lively atmosphere.

Day 8: Flight to the capital
Day 8: Flight to the capital

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Antananarivo. End of stay in the Masoala region.
