This tour takes you to the heart of the Great West of Madagascar, a spectacular region known for its majestic baobabs, wild mangroves and the impressive rock formations of the Tsingy de Bemaraha, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A journey between preserved nature, wildlife observation and unique landscapes.
Departure towards the Central Highlands via the national road 07. Crossing landscapes of rice terraces and traditional villages. Arrival in Antsirabe, a spa town renowned for its craftsmanship and peaceful atmosphere.
Long road towards the West through the changing landscapes of the Malagasy plateaus. Gradual passage towards the drier areas of Menabe before reaching Morondava, a coastal town facing the Mozambique Channel.
Day of discovery of the Kivalo mangroves, a remarkable ecosystem of the west coast. Canoe trip through the mangrove channels and observation of local fauna: birds, crabs, fish and seascapes typical of the region.A memorable moment at the baobab avenue on the return journey with the setting sun.
Road to the dry forest of Kirindy, one of the best sites for observing wildlife in western Madagascar. In the evening, night outing in the forest to try to spot the fosa, Madagascar's emblematic predator, as well as Madame Berthe's famous mouse lemur, the smallest primate in the world.
4×4 road to Bekopaka through the wild landscapes of Menabe. Crossing the Tsiribihina and Manambolo Rivers by ferry and arriving at the gates of the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park. Possibility of night outing in the surrounding forest.
Day exploring Great Tsingy, an impressive limestone rock cathedral sculpted by erosion. Hike across footbridges and suspension bridges offering spectacular panoramas of these unique formations.
Excursion in a traditional canoe on the Manambolo river to discover caves and limestone cliffs. Visit the Small Tsingy, more accessible but equally fascinating rock formations.
Return to Morondava through the wild landscapes of the West. At the end of the day, stop at the famous Baobab alley to admire one of the most spectacular sunsets in Madagascar.
Transfer to the airport and return flight to Antananarivo. End of the circuit after this immersion in the emblematic landscapes of the Great West of Madagascar.
