Since March 2020, the borders of Madagascar have been closed to tourism, which is almost a year and a half of closure due to the covid-19 pandemic. If the figures linked to this contagion have always been quite low, compared to other countries in the same zone, the government has always brandished the threat of new variants.

During his last tour in France, the Malagasy president mentioned the forthcoming opening of the borders but always in the conditional. According to him, the opening could be done according to the evolution of the disease.

So if we refer to what he said and the drastic drop in the numbers linked to the pandemic in the country and the lull in Europe, we can assume that the borders will reopen next October.

A real breath of fresh air for the entire Malagasy tourism sector, which has been undermined by this disease which has been raging for far too long. From now on, we will have to live with it and assume the health protocols associated with it.

Almost all tourism players in the country are hard at work to be able to open in the best conditions and above all to be able to welcome travelers from around the world again. Apparently, the eligibility requirements to be able to travel to Madagascar will not include geographical affiliation. Everyone can come provided they meet certain parameters.

In any case, we are delighted that tourism is picking up again and that travelers are once again trusting our beautiful island.
